These are just some of the words many have used to describe the sound of international recording artist and songwriter Andrea Love, with some simply referring to her as “The Voice”. A sound influenced by Gospel with Jazz and R&B overtones, a vocal range of nearly 6 octaves, and the amazing ability to engage and capture the audience from the first glance and the first note - she is undeniably a musical force to be reckoned with.
She has worked with some of music’s hottest producers and artists including George Duke, Michael Manson, Chante Moore, Ledisi, Dianne Reeves, Nona Hendryx, Lalah Hathaway, Terri Lyne Carrington, E-Smoove, Maurice Joshua, M-Doc, Terisa Griffin and Darius Brooks.
Andrea sang her first solo in church at age 7, and though Gospel music has been her main source of inspiration, she explored other music genres based on an ever-growing influence from artists like Chaka Khan, Patti LaBelle, Donny Hathaway, and Ella Fitzgerald just to name a few. As a result, she began singing with local top Jazz and R&B bands in some of Chicago’s hottest live music night spots.
In 2001 Andrea began working with Grammy nominated remix producer Eric “E-Smoove” Miller, who, when asked about working with her says, "Andrea is a phenomenal talent and her passion for music is unmatched. I believe our musical connection was sent from heaven". Their meeting resulted in a funky Inspirational House song entitled “Shined On Me” (Praise Cats f/ Andrea Love - Subliminal Records), which has been her biggest international hit to date.
The song was well received in Europe’s Dance/House music scene. Often being at the top of most major European Dance Music charts, it gained two nominations for the 2002 Italian Dance Music Awards, including Best New Dance Artist and Song of the Year. The success of the song also allowed her to perform throughout Europe, including special television appearances on the legendary music show “Hit Machine” in France, and the annual “Festival Bar” in Italy, where she was listed on the same bill with Avril Lavigne, Michelle Branch and Shakira.
Currently, Andrea continues to record and perform in both Europe and the U.S., and is working on a full-length debut CD in which she’s heavily involved it’s writing, arranging and production to ensure that the CD is the most honest reflection of who she is as an artist - - and a woman.
On music and her career, Andrea says, “My love affair with music is something that's hard to put into words. There’s this high that I get when I sing, whether I'm on stage dressed up or standing barefoot in my living room. It’s a euphoric, sensual feeling that makes me invincible, and that feeling has become my addiction! I feel so blessed that I've been chosen to embody the gift of song, and I’ll continue using the gift to deliver life‘s music as long as it’s in me!”
